Recently External Affairs Minister of India announced 'Operation Devi Shakti plan' to evacuate Indian citizens from war-torn Afghanistan. Amidst the crisis and bomb blast outside the Kabul Airport on Thursday, western troops were trying to evacuate Afghan nationals and foreigners from Afghanistan.
India's role to evacuate Indian citizens
India has evacuated 620people, on flights from Dushanbe and Doha. Nearly 200 people including diplomates and officials were flown out from Kabul within two days after Taliban occupied Afghanistan. India involved it's IAF flights C-130 and C-17, Air India's flights. Military flights were taken long route through Iranian Airways to avoid Pakistan air root. India has carried out its evacuation mission alonwith coordination with USA and other countries.
India's priority is safety of nationals and officials. India has been trying to assist the Afghan nationals in distress and providing leadership at global platform like UNSC, upcoming session of Geneva. Nation is completely fulfill it's Neighbourhood First Policy and seek International coordination for this humanitarian crisis.
